Nica Berry started writing when she was young, her first book being titled "Mickey and Beasley and the Missing Dinosaur Egg." From there, she wrote a biopic about the life and death of her fish, Rumble, which led to going overboard on various school creative writing projects. Her first novel-length work was a Star Trek: the Next Generation fan fiction, but after realizing she could never sell it, Nica rewrote it into a fantasy novel which turned out a lot better, and the process got her interested in the finer details of writing. She attended the 2005 Clarion Writer's Workshop for Science Fiction and Fantasy, the 2007 Taos Toolbox workshop for SF/F novelists, and graduated with a Master's degree in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University in January 2008. When she's not writing, Nica likes to hang out at the zoo and take pictures of the animals. She lives in southern California with her two cats. |
